Sophia Al-Maria participates in Character Development, a group exhibition at Exhibition Warehouse & Screening Gallery, San Francisco, organized by KADIST and Minnesota Street Project Foundation.
Character Development brings together six video installations, each placing the artist on-screen across shifting guises and roles. Drawing on cinematic history through citation, reinterpretation, and critique, the works address contemporary concerns from consumer culture to feminism — treating the character, in all its instability, as both structure and strategy.
The exhibition is on view through 31 October 2026.
