Rana Begum | No. 1604 Mesh | Kew Wakehurst

ARTIST NEWS

Rana Begum’s newly commissioned sculptural installation, No. 1604 Mesh, is on view at Kew Wakehurst, West Sussex, UK.

No.1604 Mesh, created for the Henry Moore and more exhibition, weaves industrial fencing with timber sourced from Wakehurst's trees into a zigzag form that traces the natural incline of The Paddock meadow. The piece sits in deliberate dialogue between the built and the organic—its palette drawn from the dogwood of Wakehurst's Winter Garden, shifting with the light and seasons to become something that changes as the landscape does.

The installation is on view until 23 May 2027.
