The Third Line at FIAC | October 18-21, 2012 | Booth 1.F14 | Grand Palais, Paris, France - The Third Line is pleased to announce its participation in the Paris based art fair, FIAC. The gallery will be presenting works from key female artists, namely; Hayv Kahraman, Rana Begum, Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian, Pouran Jinchi and Laleh Khorramian.
Bringing together emerging and established contemporary art for the 39th consecutive year, FIAC 2012 will play host to over 180 galleries from around the world at the Grand Palais. The Third Line (Booth 1.F14) will be exhibiting artists whose works expand on the conventional definition of Architecture, each interpreting it differently based on their own individual artistic approach.
Kahraman investigates the architecture of the body and the mind – whether through exploring themes of mapping and body landscape or by deconstructing the conformist concept of space.Jinchi, on the other hand, dissects the architecture of calligraphy and text arriving at pure abstraction of form. The works of both Begum andFarmanfamaian map their respective architectural surroundings into three dimensional wall sculptures that reduce the artist’s urban environment into basic geometrical shapes, thus applying order and logic into their world.
